J.D. Goodrum Company is Hiring a Construction Project Manager Near Cornelius, NC

As a Construction Project Manager within our Company you will become an integral part of delivering construction projects to our clients on both the public and private markets. Planning, Benchmarking, Budget & Risk Management, and Communication skills are a must to deliver on schedule projects while maintaining high levels of quality to meet the demands of our clients. 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Management of all Permitting aspects of projects. 
  • Coordination of construction site safety requirements with project team.
  • Management and Reporting of Construction Budgets for assigned projects. 
  • Management and Supervision of Quality Control aspects of assigned projects.
  • Ability to establish a buyout schedule for scope of work on the project.
  • Management of in-house construction crews and superintendents for assigned projects.
  • Management of self-performed in-house civil construction crews for assigned projects.
  • Project Design Coordination (Collaboration with Engineering & Architectural Consultants).
  • Management of suppliers and subcontractors of assigned projects. 
  • Development and updating of construction schedules for assigned projects. 
  • Negotiation and preparation of subcontract agreements and purchase orders. 
  • Review and approval of construction drawings. 
  • Change order preparation. 
  • Review and approve vendor and subcontractor invoices.
  • Management and coordination of site meetings, owner meetings, punch list and closeout meetings. 
  • Preparation and reporting of monthly progress updates to company or client.
  • Prepare monthly billings for projects assigned.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings. 
  • Ability to accurately sequence and plan construction projects.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple construction trades on multiple projects. 
  • Ability to effectively and positively communicate with all parties involved in construction projects and company administration. 
  • Document Organization. 
  • Ability to identify risks. 
  • Ability to prepare monthly profit projections and reports.
  • Possess a high sense of urgency at addressing and resolving challenges that arise on assigned projects.
  • Jobsite meetings with the superintendent for quality control and schedule projections.

Education/Experience: 
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Architectural/Engineering with a minimum of 7 year’s experience as a project manager preferred but not required. 
  • Must have valid driver’s license. 
  • Experience in both public and private markets a plus for our company.
  • Local to the Charlotte Area a plus, but not required.
